Melanie - Mom of Son who was diagnosed with Celiac Disease at 8 years old. Melanie has spent years studying gluten free and how to implement it into her family's lives, while still living a normal and social life. They still go to Dollywood-TN, Disney World-FL, Adventure Island-FL, Vacations with gluten lovers, field trips, birthday parties, and long road trips. Melanie has tips and tricks on how to make your life easier and ways to even save money, if you have a 95%- 100% gluten free home. Please ask about EOE and tips and tricks on this diagnosis also. Melanie has both of these restrictions and lifestyles in the home. Gluten Belly will even go shopping for someone if they plan to visit the area and need items in the AirBnB or other rental/vacation place prior to their arrival or right at arrival to lessen the burden. Check out the Fill My Pantry page for more information!
Son - will be available (through Melanie) to help talk to your child(ren) and show them the ropes and to be a friend so they don't feel alone on this journey. His goal was to create this site (Gluten Belly) for other kids struggling with the social aspects and acceptance of the diagnosis in general. School can be the hardest of challenges when you live with any type of food restrictions and having a friend makes it so much easier to navigate. He wants to eventually have this site full of kid friendly recipes and a two-way blog to everyone to share their experiences, hardships, Gluten Free finds and much more. His goal is to have others that share our lifestyle add their own recipes too and have a "go-to" place for everyone, but mainly for kids to feel they are welcomed and not alone and can find answers and ask questions.
